Description

Gelli is a building constructed of rubble with an old slate roof featuring exposed purlin ends at the verges. It has an off-set square central stack that includes weather-coursing. The roof is pitched, which creates the appearance of shaved gable ends at the front and rear, despite the lodge's octagonal plan. There is a porch on the south side with a slate roof and weather-coursing where it meets the main block, along with a modern glazed entrance on the west side.

The south-facing side has glazed doors, and above them is a stone lintel inscribed with "RW V AM 1814," referring to Robert Williames and Anna Maria Vaughan, along with a blind oculus above. On the north side, there is a projection that features a tripartite 12-pane window with a central opening casement and a projecting stone sill, with a blind oculus above it.

At the front (west), there is a further single-storey projection with a hipped roof that is shaped segmentally over tall modern French windows. These windows are topped with 19th-century intersecting glazing that includes coloured leaded panes. The building has weather-coursing as previously mentioned, and above the French windows is a square window with a returned label and modern glazing. Similar windows can be found at the rear and on the southeast and northeast angled sides at ground level. There are also blind decorative slits on the northwest and southwest angled sides, with the latter featuring a cross-loop.
