Description
Capel Sardis is a chapel built from painted rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. The entrance is located on the long wall facing the road, featuring a cambered-headed doorway to the left, which has a panelled door. There are two slightly pointed windows with small-paned glazing, stone voussoirs, and stone sills. The left gable end includes a 12-pane hornless sash window. At the rear, there are two square 4-pane windows at eaves level, along with one nine-pane hornless sash window below. The right gable is windowless and rendered.
The chapel has an almost square plan with a boarded ceiling and a gallery on three sides, featuring rectangular panels at the front supported by plain iron classical columns. The panelled pulpit, dating from around 1860, is located on the entry wall and is adorned with turned balusters and Jacobethan newels with finials. There is a lobby with a wooden screen at the northwest corner, and the interior is furnished with wooden pews.
