Description
Bont Dolgadfan Independent Chapel is built from large squared blocks of local stone and features an old slate roof. The chapel has a long-front plan with doors at each end, each consisting of four panels and set under a depressed four-centred arch made of stone voussoirs. Between the doors are two tall 40-pane sash windows with old glass, each topped with similar stone arched heads. The rear of the building has 35-paned windows, while the lower south gable is now covered in corrugated iron.
The forecourt is enclosed by cast iron railings with fleur terminals, which are set on a front coursed local stone retaining wall, featuring a central matching gate between the returned ends of the wall.
Inside, timber lobbies cover each entrance. There are five rows of pews arranged on a shallow rake facing the pulpit, which is simply panelled and has a panelled back, with enclosed box seats on either side that back onto the lobbies. The walls are finished with a matchboard dado and a bench seat. The ceiling is boarded and divided into two square panels by deep moulded ribs that lead to a central roundel, resembling the one found at Hên Gapel.
