Description
1 & 2 Pensarn A mirrored pair of 2-storey 2-window cottages, roughcast and white-washed under a hipped slate roof with central slate-hung ridge stack. Detail includes over-hanging eaves and eye-brow dormers to garden front. The windows are narrow horned sashes, mainly grouped, under shallow segmental heads. Entrance front facing road has narrow single-storey porch wing to centre, the entrances to sides. Main range has 2 x 12-pane sashes flanking porch wing, with narrow 6-pane light to outer sides. The upper storey has a window to each cottage, aligned towards the centre, each a 2-light 12-pane sash immediately under the eaves.
Garden front facing W. Each cottage has an original part-glazed boarded door to outer side under a flat-roofed canopy on moulded brackets. Wide tripartite window to inner side of each cottage, with fixed 16-pane light flanked by 8-pane sashes. Aligned above is a tripartite sash with segmental head under an eye-brow dormer. The N and S ends have the mirrored window arrangements. The N end has a pair of 4-pane sashes to L, and a similar single light to R, all under segmental heads. Upper floor has tripartite sash to L and single light to R, immediately under the eaves.
No. 1 has entrance into side of porch wing with half-glazed door to R; a boarded door to L leads into an outbuilding.
