Description
Cynffyrch is a house made up of two ranges that are positioned at right angles to each other. The 18th-century range is a two-unit structure with two low storeys and features a lobby entrance at the left end. It is built from white-washed rubble stone and has a slate roof with stone end stacks. A gabled stone porch was added after 1979, which includes a boarded door with small-pane glazing. To the right of the porch, there are two late 20th-century plain-glazed wooden sash windows with stone lintels and slate sills, which replaced earlier four-pane sashes. Similar windows are aligned on the upper storey, just below the eaves. There is a former 19th-century dairy adjoining to the right, which is now used as a garage.
The 19th-century block was added at right angles and faces north. This symmetrical structure has two storeys and three windows, also made from whitewashed rubble stone and topped with a slate roof and stone end stacks. It features a central entrance with a late 20th-century gabled stone porch and a glazed wooden front door that faces west. The windows are 12-pane horned sashes set under segmental brick heads, which may have been renewed. A small top-hung light has been inserted to the right of the west gable end. The rear of the building was not seen during the resurvey.
