Description

This barn, likely dating from the 3rd quarter of the 18th century, is situated adjacent to Llwyn y Ffynnon. It is probably a 3-bay structure built of rubble stone and now has a corrugated iron roof. The front of the barn features a central entrance with a high, boarded door set beneath a rough timber lintel. Loft hatches are located on either side of the entrance, both having stone sills and being infilled with corrugated iron; the one to the left is set within a raked half-dormer. There is a ventilation slit in the west gable end, below a single-storey timber lean-to. Another lean-to is visible at the rear of the barn. An additional unit is attached to the left-hand end, likely a former cart-shed, with a large opening facing the front, now infilled with corrugated iron. The interior was inaccessible at the time of inspection.
