Description
This is a large, seven-bay barn, likely dating to the 18th century, constructed of stone rubble with a steeply pitched corrugated roof. A stone lean-to is attached to the south side. The west side features small rectangular openings beneath timber lintels, which extend to the east, creating seven open bays defined by stone piers. A corrugated cowshed, enclosing the north side, has larger rectangular openings providing access to a loft and ground-floor doorways, all with boarded doors set under timber lintels. Stone steps lead to the loft at the west end, displaying projecting timbers from a former hood, with an overgrown loft opening above. A door provides access to an outshut on the ground floor, to the right.
The barn is lofted at its west end and features a ladder to a second-storey loft located in the corner. This area previously had plastered, chamfered cross beams and a timber partition. The roof structure includes collar and tie trusses and three rows of trenched purlins. The openings on the right side have sharp arises.
