Description
The barn range at Castle Farm is a long structure that includes a barn and a cartshed on the right, with a lower two-bay unit on the left. It is constructed of stone rubble and topped with a Welsh slate roof. The barn features renewed double doors, a single row of two ventilation slits on the left side, and one on the right. On the right side, there are four segmental arched cartshed bays with voussoirs, narrow imposts, and keystones, along with a loft opening above and a pitching door in the gable end. To the left, there is a boarded door leading to the first-floor loft, while the ground floor has a pair of boarded doors with deep stone lintels and two windows with hoppers. There is also a two-storey lean-to on the left gable end. This range faces the main house, creating an entrance courtyard between the two buildings.
Inside the cartshed, there is a ceiling supported by a cross beam and joists, along with stairs at the rear and square recesses in the end rear wall.
