Description
Pencelli Court, also known as Penkelly Court, is a building constructed of stone rubble, rendered at the front, and limewashed on the sides and rear. It features a tiled roof with roughcast end ridges and rear stacks, including a tall limewashed rubble kitchen stack that rises from a catslide roof. The structure is two storeys high, with an attic and cellar on the south side.
The main layout consists of a five-bay range with a projecting central rear gable above a single-storey outshut that has a catslide roof. To the left, there is an attached barn range that is at the same height. The main facade displays five windows on the first floor, featuring diamond quarry casements with shallow stone lintels and sills. On the ground floor, there is a doorway with a 20th-century porch located off-centre to the left, a similar window to the left, and a three-light casement window to the right.
The attached barn/byre range is made of rubble that was previously limewashed and has a corrugated roof. The gable end has a dripstone above an altered loft opening and a wide ground floor opening that has also been altered. The side facing the byre includes a loft opening and a ground floor doorway.
Inside, the layout consists of a hall with a staircase positioned in a projection next to the stack, and a parlour that is heated by an axial fireplace.
