Description

Pencelli Bridge, also known as Canal Bridge No. 154, is a hump-backed bridge constructed of rubble sandstone. The segmental arch is formed with thin voussoirs, and it is flanked by a low parapet with flat coping. The abutments curve outwards on both sides, and the parapet features square end piers. A cast iron plaque bearing the bridge number is set into the keystone on the east side. The towpath runs beneath the bridge on the north side and has a stone kerb; on the south side, a stringcourse is situated roughly at water level. The bridge connects the two main village streets and marks the southern boundary of Pencelli Basin. A pipe is attached to the west side of the bridge.
