Description
This is a large barn of stone rubble construction with a corrugated roof. It features two sets of opposing double doorways supported by shallow timber lintels, as well as a smaller door and opening leading to the farmyard. Attached to the right of the barn is a cross range built of rubble with a Welsh slate roof, likely originally a carriage shed, separate dairy, and/or salting room. This range has renewed open bays on the farmyard side, while its outward-facing elevation has a series of pointed-arch Gothick metal-framed windows with brick voussoirs. The gable end of this range, facing the house, has two doors, with a bricked-up pitching door leading to the first floor. A further cross range to the right has been altered to create an open cowshed adjacent to the barn and connects to an adjoining stone building, potentially linked to an earlier 17th-century structure at Llanddetty Hall. The main barn range has two rows of pigeon holes, stepped back another 10 holes.
Inside the barn, there are 10 bays with collar and tie beam trusses and trenched purlins. The floor is a mix of cobbled, flagstone, and earth surfaces.
