Description

Wenallt Upper Bridge, also known as Canal Bridge No. 141, is a hump-back bridge made of rubble sandstone. It features a segmental arch with thin voussoirs and a low parapet that has flat coping. The abutments curve outward on both sides, and the parapet is finished with square end piers. On the eastern side, there is a cast iron plaque displaying the bridge number, which is positioned in relief at the keystone. The towpath runs beneath the bridge on the northern side and includes a stone kerb, while the southern side has a stringcourse that is roughly at water level.

The bridge is reinforced with iron ribs beneath the vault and has a tarmac surface. There is also a lozenge-shaped cast iron weight restriction notice, and signs of repairs can be seen on the parapet.
