Description
Llanddetty Hall Farmhouse is a large gentleman's farmhouse built of stone rubble that is rendered and scored at the front and painted on the sides. It features a Welsh slate roof with overhanging eaves, a boarded soffit, decorative bargeboards, and narrow rendered paired and angled stacks, including one external stack on the left and one on the right of the former external wall.
The front elevation has a five-window range of 3/3 pane horned sashes set in reveals. The windows are similarly spaced, but the glazing on the second storey has been altered, while the ground floor windows are larger and include a roughly central gabled porch. There is a wider space between the fourth and fifth bays on the right, indicating an added or raised wing.
On the farmyard elevation, there are two pointed arched Gothick windows, one of which is blocked, along with perching ledges for pigeons. Other windows on this side are set under timber lintels, and there is a round arched front doorway on the left. The rear elevation features additional Gothick windows and a long narrow staircase window, as well as a blocked archway and other signs of alteration.
The building was not inspected at the time of the survey on 22nd October 1997.
