Description
The group of three chest tombs located east of St Tetta's church includes notable monuments. The monument to John Harries features a deep moulded plinth and a nearly square, slightly tapered chest with an inscription on the west face. It has a deeply moulded tiered cornice topped by a large urn with an iron finial. The monument to George Overton is rectangular and made of stone painted pale grey, with a moulded stone slab that has an inscription. The primary inscription panel is shaped and located on the north side, flanked by fluted end pilasters, with a later inscription on the slab. The monument to Thomas Burnell appears to be made of artificial stone and includes end colonettes, moulded panels on the sides divided by fluting, with only one panel bearing an inscription. It has a moulded slab on top and a low plinth.
