Description
Pen y Bont is a long, one-and-a-half-storey building, likely originally planned with three units, to which a further bay was added to the left side later. The building is primarily constructed of whitewashed rubble stone, with a slate roof and a red brick ridge stack. A small area of timber-framing has been preserved at the rear. The openings are irregularly placed and feature long timber lintels. A lobby entrance is located to the left of the centre, with a boarded door, a wooden two-light casement to its left, and a four-pane sash window to its right. To the far right are split doors and a nine-pane wooden window beneath a continuous lintel. The upper storey has small two-light casements to the right and far right, the latter featuring quarries. A skylight is positioned at the centre of the roof pitch. The south gable end is not visible. The rear elevation is built into the bank and includes a row of box-panelling on a raised sill to the left of centre. A raked dormer with a small-pane window is situated to the right of centre.
The added left bay is slightly advanced and features corrugated iron double doors to the far left, beneath a substantial lintel, above which is a plain glazed window. The north gable contains a 20th-century metal casement, with a narrow 20th-century light below, offset to the left. The interior was not accessible at the time of inspection.
