Description

Plas Wrin is a two-storey house built in a square plan, featuring a centrally placed valley. The entrance front faces east and has three windows, while the garden front to the south has two windows. The house is constructed of whitewashed stone and topped with a hipped slate roof, which includes stone stacks and overhanging boarded eaves. The central doorway is flanked by panelled pilasters that support a cornice on brackets, and it features panelled reveals. The entrance has half-glazed panelled double doors with margin lights. The windows are hornless sash windows, with 12 panes on the ground floor and 3-over-6 panes on the first floor, all set under stone voussoirs. Notably, the right-hand ground floor window has horns. The garden front mirrors the sash windows and includes a small central niche.

The house was recorded in 1976 and contains many contemporary fittings inside. A centrally placed staircase leads from the entrance hall to the attic, featuring a scrolled outer string, slender square balusters, and moulded handrails that terminate in scrolls. The interior includes semi-elliptical arches, panelled doors, and some doorways with panelled reveals, including a six fielded panelled door to the attic. The window openings have shutters and panelled lintels. The kitchen likely originates from an earlier structure and features part of a double ceiling of 18th-century type with joists of thin scantling.
