Description
Golfa Isaf is a two-storey house built in an L shape. The east/west range is mostly covered in local slatey stone, although the west gable, which faces the road, reveals some close studding. The timber framing on the east and west sides of the north wing consists of small panels. The house has a slate roof with a large stone chimney at the east gable, which still shows traces of decorative ribs, and a small end-chimney on the north wing.
The south slope of the east/west range extends into a catslide single-storey extension. There is also a later two-storey annexe to the west, which is rendered and painted white, with its gable facing the road. This annexe has a slate roof and an end-chimney.
Although not seen during the survey, it was recorded in 1980 that the house retains a dais partition with two doors, each featuring a 4-centred head. There is a central beam over the hall with an ogee-moulded stop, which is consistent with the 17th-century date for the addition of the upper floor.
