Description
The Stable and Garage Range at Maes Heulyn is an L-shaped, single-storey structure built from painted red brick, topped with a slate roof and tiled ridge. It features a plain chimney on the main section, with a metal, pyramidally-roofed louvre situated beyond it. The building faces a small, partially metalled courtyard to the west, with a produce garden located to the rear on the east side.
The main section includes three stable doors on the courtyard side, each accompanied by an 8-pane window to the left. On the far right, there is an entrance to a tack room, which has a glazed upper section above a boarded door, and a two-part 12-pane casement window to the right. The far right also features an advanced gabled section that contains two large boarded garage entrances and windows on the returns. A segmentally-arched loading bay is positioned at the south gable apex of the main section, with a four-part casement window at the rear of the garage section and small rectangular vent windows for each stall.
Adjoining the south side is a 1.5-meter high brick wall with a tile coping that extends for 3 meters before turning at a right angle to the west and terminating after another 4 meters in a plain pier.
Inside the tack room, there is boarded deal panelling and a simple fireplace, with areas of the original dark green paint finish still visible.
