Description
The Cartshed and Stable Range at Hendre Farm is a lofted cartshed with an attached single-storey stable located at the south-east gable end. It features slate roofs and a red brick front wall with flush limestone dressings, while the rest of the structure is made of limestone rubble with traces of render. The yard side has three elliptical-arched cart openings supported by banded piers, with loft openings above that have segmental arches and wooden frames. The north-west gable includes external brick stairs with stone treads leading to a boarded door, and a boundary wall that meets the outer angle.
The stables are set back at the south-east end, characterized by low front eaves and various openings that include boarded doors and patterned vents. The rear, which faces the lane, has four boarded openings in the low section.
Inside, the structure is said to contain a pair of king-post roof trusses supported by brick, along with massive cross-beams on the ground floor.
