Description
Pont Ruffydd is a single-span road bridge made of rubble. It features a wide segmental arch with a rusticated soffit made of red sandstone. The chamfered rustication continues onto the bridge faces as projecting voussoirs, and there is a plain stringcourse above. The carriageway has a gentle hump and splayed approaches that end in rectangular piers topped with shallow pyramidal caps. The parapets are capped with sandstone, although the eastern downstream section has been renewed and now includes modern concrete copings. Each side of the parapet has a central projecting section on the inner face. Additionally, there is a later stone stile and a flight of stone steps with a rubble parapet on the eastern downstream side.
