Description

Pont Newydd is a single-span road bridge constructed from rubble. It features a wide segmental arch made with rough-dressed voussoirs. The plain rubble parapets follow the pronounced hump of the carriageway and are topped with limestone coping stones secured by metal ties. At the Nantglyn end, on the southeast side, and at the Denbigh end, on the northwest side, there are sloping rubble buttresses. The approaches to the bridge are splayed.
