Description
Hendre Farm features an L-shaped set of agricultural buildings, with the main range lofted and oriented from north-east to south-west alongside the farmyard. A single-storey range extends as a wing to the south-east. The structures are primarily constructed of handmade brick, with some sections in stone, and have slate roofs with tile ridges. The north gable and parts of the east face are made of local limestone.
The main elevation faces south-east towards the farmyard, with the brickwork showing evidence of rebuilding at various times. To the left is a barn with a large door, while to the right there are three windows and four openings that may have been used for carts (one arch-headed and the others with timber lintels). There is one loft hatch on the left and three loft hatches along with two lozenge panels of ventilation brickwork on the right at loft level. The lower range, facing north towards the farmyard, also displays signs of alteration, including arched and lintel-headed openings, and features a lean-to shed at the angle.
The main and lower ranges are connected by a walled yard, which they form two sides of, and this yard is partly occupied by later buildings.
