Coach House at Penamen House

The Coach House at Penamen House is a two-storey, T-shaped building constructed in the 19th century. It features squared, coursed rubble masonry and a gently pitched slate roof with plain eaves, deep slated verges, and exposed purlins. An ornamental vent is located to the right of the center.

Windows are positioned at the extreme right and left under the eaves, with a cross frame on the left and a two-light window on the right. To the left, there are two broad coach house entries with deep stone lintels and plank doors, along with a split stable door at the extreme right. A two-pane rectangular fanlight is also present.

On the left end gable, there is a loft doorway with a stone lintel and a rubble staircase. The right gable end has two windows on the ground floor, featuring stone lintels and modern four-pane frames. At the rear, there is a cross range; the upper part was formerly an open hayloft supported by rubble piers, while the ground floor has been converted into garaging.

Inside, the stable retains good late 19th-century horse stalls, which include curved stall-tops, iron rails, and ball finials on the end posts.
