Description
The stables and coach house at Plas Tirion is a 2-storey building with a rectangular plan, oriented from north-west to south-east. It is constructed from roughly coursed rubblestone blocks, with slate hung on the rear and a slate roof. The front features three eaves windows: the left and center are 20th-century 2-light casements, while the right is a 19th-century 12-paned sash, all set in their original roughly square openings. On the ground floor, there are wide double doors to the left, accompanied by a tall fixed-light 12-paned window and a boarded door beneath a narrow rectangular overlight in the center, all topped with large stone lintels. The right gable end includes steps leading to the first floor, which has a substantial lean-to hood over the doorway.
Inside, the first floor displays A-frame trusses with high collars and shows evidence of former partitioning that was used for grooms' accommodation.
