Description
Old Cottage at Penamen House is a one and a half storey cottage featuring three windows. The building is constructed of rubble masonry, which was formerly whitewashed. It has a steeply pitched quarry slate roof laid in diminishing courses, with plain eaves and raking gable parapets. The cottage is topped with tall, square stone stacks that have water tabling.
The exterior includes three gabled dormers with timber gablets, rubble cheeks, laced valleys, and close verges. The windows are two-light casements, and there is a central doorway with a stone lintel and a plank door. Flanking this doorway are windows with stone lintels, featuring vertically paned Victorian sash windows. The interior may also be of interest.
