Description

Garth Isaf is a late 17th century, two-storey house, possibly a former dower house, which was altered in the 19th century. It is built of rubble with an old slate roof and features an end chimney on the northwest gable, complete with weather coursing and well-moulded capping. The southwest, or main, façade is set behind a low coped rubble wall and has an off-centre entrance on the left with a boarded door. To the left of the entrance is a modern six-pane window, while to the right is a small four-pane casement window. There is another door on the far right, with a small two-pane window to the left of it. Under the eaves, there are four small, equally spaced four-pane casement windows with projecting slate cills.

Stone steps lead up to the entrance on the left side at the rear, which has a boarded door. In front of this entrance is a small dwarf-rubble-walled enclosure, and to the right at ground level is a boarded, shuttered window. There is also a blocked window opening to the right, featuring a projecting slate lintel.

Attached to the left gable end is a small, single-storey addition with a rubble gable parapet and an old slate roof, which has weather coursing where it meets the main block. This addition has a boarded door at the rear and a modern window on the northwest side.

Inside, there is a part-cobbled floor, a large blocked fireplace at the left gable end, and some stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
