Description
Y Bont is a two-storey terrace of three cottages built in two periods. The right section dates from around 1800 and originally extended to the right; it was raised and extended to the left and truncated to the right in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of whitened rubble and features a continuous medium-pitched slate roof with plain bargeboards on the southwest and northeast gables. There are end and two additional squat chimneys, all of which are rendered except for the one on the right. The arrangement of doors and windows is irregular: the central cottage has an entrance with a single window to the right, while the flanking cottages have central entrances and flanking windows. The doors are slightly recessed and are 19th-century boarded doors, accompanied by contemporary four-pane sash windows. There are six narrower windows on the first floor, with two per cottage. Adjoining the earlier No 3 on the right is a reduced single-storey unit that was originally full-height and now has a lean-to corrugated iron roof. This unit features a recessed four-panel door with a small canted bay to the right, which has plain glazing and an iron roof. There is a 20th-century catslide extension to the right and a rear lean-to extension to No 1.
