Description

Y Bont is a two-storey terrace of three cottages built in two periods. The right section dates to around 1800 and originally extended to the right, but was raised and extended to the left and truncated to the right in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of whitened rubble and features a continuous medium-pitched slate roof with plain bargeboards on the southwest and northeast gables. There are end chimneys and two additional squat chimneys, all except the right one are rendered. The arrangement of doors and windows is irregular: the central cottage has an entrance with a single window to the right, while the flanking cottages have central entrances and flanking windows. The doors are slightly recessed 19th-century boarded doors, and there are contemporary four-pane sash windows. The first floor has six narrower windows, two for each cottage. To the right, adjoining the earlier No 3, there is a reduced single-storey unit that was originally full-height but now has a lean-to corrugated iron roof. This unit features a recessed four-panel door and a small canted bay to the right with plain glazing and an iron roof. There is a 20th-century catslide extension to the right and a rear lean-to extension to No 1.
