Description
Efallon, also known as Lodge Fach, is a single-storey structure built from rubble, featuring a steep slate roof with high gable parapets, broad kneelers, and weather coursing. It has an off-centre rubble chimneystack topped with a cornice. The front, which faces the road, has three bays, including a half-glazed doorway positioned below the stack, flanked by tall, narrow windows that have unusual triangular heads and monolithic stone jambs, reminiscent of Anglo-Saxon design. A rubble terrace is located at the front. The tall, narrow openings are also found at the gables on the end walls, but these are blind. To the right gable, there is a 6-pane casement window featuring a curious label that is inversely returned. A date plaque is situated on the left gable above a wide depressed arched opening, which has a keystone and imposts but is now infilled. Above this opening is a recessed Tudor arch over a 12-pane sash window with a slate cill. There is a modern extension to the rear and southwest that is not included in this description. Inside, the open roof features tie beams and through purlins, along with lightly chamfered beams and low boarded doors.
