Description
Lon-Isaf Gate is a single-storey T-plan building dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of roughly coursed rubblestone, with some traces of limewash still visible, and features a hipped slate roof. The main section of the building is aligned north-south and has a splayed projection at the center, which is fronted by a lower pedimented section that serves as an entrance porch.
On either side of the splayed projection, there are horned 6-paned sash windows, while the right end wall has a blind window. The projection itself contains a 2-light 12-paned casement window in the right splay and a 6-paned sash window in the left splay. The pedimented porch features a boarded door to the right and blind windows to the left and front; the front window is segmental-arched and originally held a board listing the toll charges. A rendered ridge stack is located at the center of the main range. There is a 20th-century extension at the rear of the building. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
