Description

Cororion is a two-storey, T-plan building dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of snecked rubblestone, with slate hanging on the first floor. The roof is slate, with boarded verges. The north-west side of the building, which faces farm buildings, features a three-light mullioned and transomed window to the left on the ground floor. A 20th-century lean-to entrance porch has replaced the original 19th-century porch situated in the angle with a projecting gable to the right. This gable features a four-light casement window on the first floor and a three-light mullioned and transomed window on the ground floor. The long right return of this range has a raking eaves dormer directly above a sash window on the ground floor, and a four-light casement window on the first floor. The left gable end of the main range incorporates a three-light mullioned and transomed timber window on the ground floor. Prominent purple brick stacks are a key feature, each with paired diagonal shafts and stepped capping—one rising from the ridge of the main range (to the left of the porch), one from the centre of the gabled range, and another from the gable end of its continuation to the rear. The interior retains original panelled doors.
