Description
This is a single-storey barracks building designed in a shallow double-depth T-plan, featuring a central gabled projection and a slightly lower block to the south-west. It is constructed from squared and coursed slate stone, with some remnants of what is likely later slate hanging. The gable-ended roofs are adorned with polychromatic slate banding, and the chimneys are made from sawn slate blocks, with some sections rendered. The main range has a front that includes a 1:2 arrangement of windows, which still show traces of 19th-century sashes. There is a small entrance porch with a shallow pyramidal roof located at the angle of the central gabled projection, which contains a 20th-century door. Much of the original lath and plasterwork inside the building has been preserved.
