Description

The Ropeway Winding House is a single-storey building with a rectangular plan, oriented from north-east to south-west. It is constructed from roughly coursed slate slabs and features a gable-ended slate roof. The front wall has a central window, although the joinery is missing, along with a doorway and additional window openings on the left gable end. There is an integral red brick stack on the right gable end.

Inside, the building retains a concrete base that once supported the electric motor used to wind the blondin ropeway. The internal wall features three murals, each set within a painted disc. One mural depicts a horse's head, while the other two show a bird on a branch and a dog's head with a potted plant.
