Description
The Old Schoolhouse is a two-storey building constructed from roughly coursed local rubblestone, which is entirely painted over. It features a natural slate roof and a red brick chimney. The building has a picturesque gabled style and a T-shaped plan. The central entrance elevation has three bays, with a gabled wing at the rear. The entrance consists of a part-glazed door set within a gabled porch, flanked by three-light bays that have pent slate roofs. Above these bays, there are three 3-light windows with straight stone drips, all of which date from the early 20th century. The roof is plain and steeply pitched.
On the left side, the gable has an additional bay window on the ground floor, with a casement window above it. The rear right wing contains two ground floor windows, both of which are 2-light small paned casements of different sizes, with only one window above. The gable end of this wing features another bay window and three additional windows, all with drips above. The roof here is also steeply pitched, with projecting eaves and a ridge stack. The rear elevation has not been seen. The interior details were not available during the resurvey.
