Description
Hafod Aur is a shop and house dating from the mid-19th century. It features a painted brick elevation facing the street, with stone on the sides and rear. The building stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. The shop front includes panelled pilasters with decorative fretwork beneath the fascia and a deep moulded cornice. To the left of the shop front is a panelled door with an overlight. The shop window, which sits above a rendered stall board, is a three-light window with segmental arched lights, thin wooden mullions, and two horizontal glazing bars. The first floor has 12-pane horned sash windows with segmental heads, while the top floor features similar 9-pane sashes. The right gable end is constructed of rubble stone and has two 15-pane sash windows under brick heads that light the stairwell. The rear of the building, also in rubble stone, has a three-window arrangement with small-pane horned sash windows under brick heads, and a central replaced door with an overlight. The property has not been inspected.
