Description
Good Fortune Take Away is a shop and house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features a painted brick exterior and a plain tiled roof. The building stands three storeys tall with a basement, set on a plinth that includes a plat band, cornice, and a parapet above a hipped roof, which has stacks on both the left and right sides.
On the first and second floors, there are two glazing bar sash windows, with the second floor having windows with 12 panes and central blank window spaces, all topped with gauged heads. The mid-19th century shop front includes arcaded plate windows above grilled basement openings. A recessed half-glazed door is set within an elliptical surround that has a keyed and moulded cornice, leading up to the entrance via four steps with iron rails and bifurcated uprights. The fascia features a modillion cornice supported by pilasters.
