Description

This is a late Georgian house, now divided into two properties and partially converted for commercial use. The exterior walls are rendered with a scribed finish, topped by a renewed slate roof and roughcast end stacks. The house is three storeys high and originally has three bays, displaying a pair of central doorways. Number 9 has a fielded-panel door with a plain overlight, while Number 7 has a replaced door also with a plain overlight, both framed by pilaster strips and a modern pediment. A four-pane sash window is located to the right in the lower storey of Number 9. Number 7 features a late 20th-century shop window to the left, framed by panelled pilasters and a fascia. A blind window sits above the central bay, while the middle and upper storeys each contain four-pane horned sash windows. At the rear, Number 9 is constructed from rubble stone with sash windows, while Number 7 has a full-height rendered projection and an attic dormer. The building forms part of a group of properties at 7-9 High Street.
