Description

4 Lamb Lane is a late Georgian building of two storeys, originally designed as a two-window structure, though extended to three windows at No. 7. The front is constructed of part-coursed rubble, colourwashed rubble, and roughcast, with a slate roof, wide boarded eaves, and chimney stacks of brick and roughcast. The windows are mostly horizontally sliding sash windows (at Nos. 3 and 5), sash windows with glazing bars (at No. 7), or casement and modern windows. They are all topped with cambered voussoir lintels. The central entrances now have mostly modern doors. A cobbled pavement is found at No. 3, and external rubble steps lead to No. 6, with a ramped wall connecting down to No. 7. Originally, the building was constructed as only one room deep, except for No. 5, which now has a modern extension to the rear.
