Description
8 Great Oak Street is a three-storey Victorian building featuring red brick facades with varying designs. Number 7 has a three-window front, while Number 8 has a two-window front. The slate roofs are hipped at the left end and have wide modillion bracket eaves. Number 7 has a slate-hung stack located midway down the front roof pitch, while Number 8 has a stock brick stack at the ridge and a red brick stack at the rear.
Freestone dressings adorn Number 7, including quoins, cill bands, and a plinth, while Number 8 features blue and stock brick banded dressings, including a band at the top of the first floor. Both properties have horned six-pane sash windows. The Victorian shop fronts consist of a two-light window for Number 7 and a three-light window for Number 8, with panelled pilasters and reveals on the former and half-glazed doors on both.
Additionally, both buildings have tall arched doorways on the right, featuring banded voussoirs and boarded doors. The side elevation facing Bethel Street has a two-window arrangement with a similar dentil and doorcase leading to a four-panel door.
