Description

Plas Bowman is a late Georgian town house. The building is constructed of coursed and squared stone, but the roof has been entirely destroyed. The front elevation, facing High Street, has three storeys and comprises four bays of unequal width, with the openings deliberately set to the left. A round-headed doorway is located in the bay to the right of centre; it features a radial overlight and panelled reveals, and it has been boarded up, though a small dated slate tablet is positioned above the door. The windows are topped with flat arches and are blocked. A sill band is present at the level of the first-floor windows. The left-hand return wall, which faces Church Street, is two bays wide and built of late 19th-century roughcast painted cream. This wall also has a thicker sill band than the front elevation, and the windows are blocked.
