Description
Cilgwyn is a late Georgian house that is symmetrical, three stories high, and has three bays. It features painted pebble-dashed walls over rubble stone, a graded slate roof with a moulded eaves cornice, and a brick stack on the left side that is partially rendered. The central doorway is framed by a wooden doorcase with Tuscan pilasters, a half-lit panelled door, and a radial-glazed wrought-iron fanlight. The windows are set in late 19th-century architraves and consist of 12-pane hornless sashes with thin glazing bars on the lower and middle storeys. The upper storey has a 6-pane horned sash window on the left, while the central and right-hand windows are boarded over.
On the right side of the rear, there is a small-pane sash window on the lower storey. The original layout of the house has been preserved, featuring a central stair hall with principal rooms on the right and left. The dog-leg stair has plain balusters, turned newels, and moulded tread ends.
