Description

Yr Aelwyd is a large building in the Georgian style, featuring roughcast walls and a graded slate roof with stacks at both ends and one to the left of center. The structure has three storeys and an attic, with a large asymmetrical front that combines the original single-window property at No 3 and the two-window property at No 5 into one. The entrance is located at the left end, accessed by steps leading up to the raised lower storey. It features a panelled door with a plain overlight above.

The windows on the facade have architraves and sill bands, with the lower storey displaying uneven fenestration. The left and central windows align with the upper storeys and are 16-pane hornless sash windows. In the right-hand bay, there are two non-aligned windows: a mid-20th century 12-pane horned sash window on the left, which replaced the original doorway to No 5, and an 8-pane hornless sash window on the right. Further to the right is a passage at basement level. The middle storey has 16-pane hornless sash windows, while the upper storey features 12-pane hornless sashes. The attic includes blocked windows beneath the eaves, which have been replaced on the right and left with dormers containing casement windows, and in the center by a horned sash window in a half-dormer.

The rear of the building is also roughcast and retains a 19th-century domestic character, featuring mainly small-pane hornless sash windows, including stair lights to the left of center, and three raked dormers with 4-pane sashes.
