Description
30 Clwyd Street is a three-storey building with five windows, dating from the 18th century. It is part of a group with 28 Clwyd Street. The building features a slate roof with four clustered brick stacks, two on the ridge towards the center and one at each end.
The structure is constructed of brick set on a stone plinth. The ground and first floors have 12-pane hornless sash windows beneath tall cambered brick heads, while the second floor has three-over-six-pane sashes under segmental heads. The entrance is located immediately to the left of the central window and consists of an open wooden porch with narrow chamfered posts that support a moulded flat-roofed canopy. The doorcase features panelled pilasters with decorative capitals that hold up a moulded cornice, above which is a panelled door with a four-pane overlight. To the right of the central window, there is a former doorway that has been blocked with brick.
There is a rectangular through-passage to the far right, located under the first-floor window, which was originally intended for coaches. At the rear, there are two small lights above the through-passage and a fire-escape door to the attic beneath a flat-roofed dormer. To the right, there is a large stone lean-to with a slate roof, which includes a first-floor fire-escape door. Further to the right is a long single-storey wing, likely built in the late 20th century.
Inside, the building has a substantial medium-chamfered spine beam and a fireplace recess at the right end, which features a replaced timber lintel.
