Description
40 Clwyd Street is a one-and-a-half storey building that forms part of a group with number 42. The exterior features an irregular four-window arrangement and is rendered on a plinth, topped with a slate roof and a large central brick ridge stack.
The entrance to number 40 is located to the far left, featuring a panelled door next to the chimney. To the right, there is a mid to late 20th-century shop front that includes an inset half-glazed panelled door, flanked by splayed plain-glazed shop windows beneath an angled fascia. The upper storey has two sets of 2-light small-pane wooden casements. At the rear, the upper storey is constructed of brick and also has two sets of 2-light wooden casements, along with a flat-roofed brick addition on the ground floor, likely built around 1900.
Inside the shop, the ceiling is supported by plain joists.
