Description
39 Clwyd Street is part of a group that includes 39, 41, and 43A. This building is a two-storey range with three windows. The left-hand unit is of a different construction and has lower eaves. The ground floor is rendered, while the first floor is roughcast, and both levels have slate roofs, although the chimney stacks are missing. The upper storey features small-pane top-hung wooden windows. The ground floor has a central entrance with a late 20th-century part-glazed wooden door, which leads to a flat above at 43A. Inside the entrance to No 43A, there is the original end wall of the house, made of small-scantling timber-framing on a stone plinth. The rear of the building is said to be built into a steep bank and includes a flat-roofed addition.
The shop front of 39 has a 20th-century half-glazed panelled door on the left and a plain-glazed window on the right. No features of historic interest were observed inside.
