Description
43 Clwyd Street is a 2-storey building that features an irregular 3-window range. The exterior is rendered and topped with a slate roof, and it has quoins, although the stacks are missing. A panelled door is located at the center, providing access to first floor accommodation. The ground floor has late 20th-century shop fronts, while the upper storey has small-pane top-hung wooden windows.
The shop front at 43 includes a central half-glazed boarded door, flanked by plain-glazed windows set above modern brickwork. The openings are framed by moulded narrow wooden columns, which may be from an earlier period, supporting a plain cornice. The upper storey has two windows.
Inside the shop, the ceiling features a medium-chamfered cross-beam with cut stops, along with chamfered joists that have run-out stops. There is a corner fireplace to the southeast with a slightly cambered timber lintel.
