Description
Glan Arran is a three-storey building with three windows, constructed from coursed squared rubble and partly built onto adjoining cottages on the left. It features a moderately pitched slate roof with close verges and a cavetto eaves cornice. The building has tall rectangular stone stacks with water tabling and a square stack on the rear wing. The left end is slate hung.
The attic has a pediment with an inset wheel window, and modern bargeboards. The second-floor windows are shallow upper sashes with nine panes, set under the eaves cornice. The first floor has twelve-pane sash windows on the left and center, and a deeper fourteen-pane sash window on the right, all with stone lintels and flush sills. The ground floor also features twelve-pane sash windows with stone lintels and flush sills. The central doorcase has lost its pediment and now has a modern gabled hood. The deep reveals contain fielded panels, and there is a six-fielded panel door with a diamond-glazed rectangular fanlight above. A large semicircular stone step may have once supported a curved portico.
The rear wing on the north side has undergone unsympathetic modern timber-clad alterations on the first floor.
Inside, the building retains a contemporary dog-leg staircase with swept handrails, panelled shutters on the windows, six-panel doors, and moulded architraves.
