Description

Fron Arran is a three-storey, three-window house with a two-storey service wing on the left. The building features coursed rubble masonry with ashlared pointing, while the left gable end is pebbledashed. It has a moderately pitched slate roof with an outshot to the rear, a cavetto eaves cornice, and later bargeboards. The stone stacks are also pebbledashed.

The façade includes three gablets above the second-floor windows, adorned with bargeboards and finials. The windows are 12-pane sash types with cavetto lintels, and there are 12-pane sashes on the first floor with stone lintels. The ground floor has canted bay windows with hipped slate roofs, narrow sidelights, and 12-pane front sashes. A flat hood supported by iron brackets covers the central doorway, which features a lattice-glazed rectangular fanlight above a door with four moulded fielded panels. The right gable end has twelve and fifteen-pane sash windows, a door leading to the outshot, and stone lintels. There is also a narrow 18-pane stair window at the rear.

The adjoining service wing has coursed rubble masonry and ashlared pointing, with a moderately pitched quarry slate roof, plain eaves, and close verges. It features a projecting chimney breast on the left end with slated offsets, a stone stack, and water tabling. The first floor has a 12-pane sash window set under the eaves, while the ground floor has a 16-pane sash window with a stone lintel.

Inside, there is a contemporary staircase with a scrolled newel and a handrail that sweeps up to the half landing. The interior also includes a buffet recess, six-panelled doors, moulded architraves, and some panelled shutters.
