Description
Tai Elen Glyn is a two-storey courtyard plan building constructed of roughly coursed rubblestone, featuring brick banding and window heads on the external elevations, while the internal courtyard is finished in rendered brick, all painted. The building has slate roofs. The principal elevation faces north-west and includes four gables with very short links between the shallower outer gables and a short range connecting the two inner gables, which project beyond the outer two. Each gable features a segmental-headed window on both floors, with the first-floor windows being smaller, all equipped with slate cills. The entrance is through a central segmental-pointed archway, with a window above it.
The internal courtyard measures seven by three bays and includes arcaded walkways on both the ground and first floors, with the latter accessible via twin staircases at the north-east end. All arches are semi-circular, and the central arches on the ground floor of each side provide access to the landscaped courtyard. Each individual dwelling has glazed doors and windows that open onto the arcades on both levels. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
