Description
The bothy and pigsties at Cefn Rhengwrt are a Grade II listed structure. The bothy is a short rectangular building with lower gable-ended pigsties attached to its north gable end, forming the western side of the farmyard. In front of the bothy, there is a low rubblestone wall that continues north to create the front wall of the pigsties. The walls are made of irregularly coursed rubblestone, and the roofs are covered with slate and feature slate-coped verges.
The bothy has a slightly offset doorway with a multi-paned window to the right, both of which have slate lintels. There is a large integral end stack on the right side. The pigsties have three low doorways, each with slate lintels, and dividing walls that create three separate pens. The pen closest to the bothy includes its own yard area with sloping slate troughs. Inside the bothy, there is a large brick chimney breast that contains a copper and a bread oven.
